First ever WSOP and WSOPE bracelet Winner is crowned
24 year old Jesper Hougaard from Denmark made poker history tonight by taking down the first event (£1,500 NL HE) at this year's World Series of Poker Europe event presented by Betfair. This bracelet is his second this year and makes him the first person ever to win one at both the WSOP in Vegas and WSOP Europe.
Jesper won his seat via a Betfair sponsored Bootcamp in Denmark. Second place winner at this event got to take home 50% of any potential winnings so will get half of the £144,218 first prize!
Although eigth in chips going into the final table Jesper consistently applied pressure against his opponents and finally got heads up against Fuad Serhan from London. Serhan's AKc suited were ahead before the flop against Jesper's AJd but an all diamond flop meant he was drawing dead and our first champion was crowned at 10pm GMT.
