Betfair's John Tabatabai was all in for his tournament life early on in the day when he held Ah 4s against Ryan Fronda's Kc Kd. The Kings at this point are a 70% favorite to win the hand and on a flop of Qs Qc 7h they turn into a 87% favorite. The 5d on the river almost seals the deal, making Fronda's hand a 93% favorite but proving there is still hope a rivered Ad doubles Tabatabai up.
Patrik Antonius held the chip lead and on the feature table he was ready to gamble with the other players. Patrik raised on the button with 8d 8h and the action was folded to the player in the BB who moved all in with Ad Ks. Patrik, already priced in, made the call and is a slight 56% favorite in what's called the classic ‘race'. He looks emotionless when the flop comes 10c 3s Ah making his opponents AK a 91% favorite. The 10h on the turn increases that to 95% but once again its still not over and the river 8s wins him the hand.
Daniel Negreanu's tournament ended when he got it in good against his opponent. A player in early position limped in with 5h 5d and the button raised it up with Kc Qs. Negreanu who was short stacked moved the rest of his chips in with As Qc. At this point Daniel was a 74% favorite which was increased to 85% on a flop of 5c 7s 8d. The 4c on the turn made him a 93% favorite, slightly less due to the split pot probability. Now sat down and almost content with the hand, his mood quickly changed when the Kh hit the river.
To end the day, 3 rivered sets would cripple players hopes of winning. Third place finisher Matt McCullough was now a 23% underdog with Kc Kd on a board of 3d Qc 2d Ad, but the Ks slashed those odds. Commentator and high stakes player Gary Jones was a 95% favorite with Ac Kc on a board of 3h Ah 9d Qd untill his opponent, Annette Obrestad holding 10c 10s hit the 10d on the river. Young qualifier Joe Le was an 86% favorite with 7c 7s on baord of Jc 6c 3s 7d but unfortunately for him his opponent held 8h 8c and the river was the 8s.
