You would think that the Empire could fit only one player with a huge ego inside its walls but somehow both Phil Hellmuth and Dave ‘Devilfish' Ulliot both managed to make it inside and it was not long before both players were at each others throats. Pointing at the Devilfish, Phil says with some disbelief ‘He thinks he's the King of Europe...I'm the King of Europe' to which Devilfish replied ‘We all know that if Phil was made out of chocolate he would of eaten himself a long time ago.' Phil does not deny this and just laughs at the Fish's statement.

Andy Black took a break from meditation to attend the party, stating that although he had a lot of moderate success cashing in major tournaments that year (Aussie Millions 3rd and EPT Grand Final 7th) he would still like to win one, but then goes back to his usual Zen thinking stating ‘Its only poker, what does it all mean anyway?'

Phil Gordon was excited about being in the UK and said it was a great opportunity for him to win his first bracelet. Stating that the WSOP has always been special to him, this is most probably in reference to when he first made his name at the final table of the 2001 Main Event. Asked what he feels the difference would be between the WSOPE and WSOP, he stated that the WSOPE field is going to be full of super dedicated American players who have paid a lot of money and travelled a long distance to play the event.

Scotty Nguyen was already celebrating before the tournaments started as he had just re-married his wife and stated that he was at the WSOPE for his second honeymoon, plus to make some money. A slightly merry but seriously fired up Scotty made his statement to the poker world ‘Im going to be the first man ever to win the World Series Main Even in America and the World Series Main Event in the UK, Baby.'
