Since Annette Obrestad won the WSOPE event last year she has been in demand by media all over the world.
Betfair Poker sponsored her before the event and we were truly delighted when she walked away with the first prize and over 1million pounds. Not only did it make her a Guinness Book of Records holder for the highest prize received by a female, it also made her the youngest ever (and first) female main event bracelet winner.
Since then the 19 year old has been big news not just in Norway where she lives but all over the world. Annette's story is a great one and she has been hot property in Vegas this year despite the fact that she cannot legally gamble for two years. As a Betfair Poker sponsored pro along with John Tabatabai and Sorel Mizzi she has done a whole host of interviews and media appearances.
Poker is truly a global game with over 100 countries represented at this year's WSOP (the Olympics has just over 80!!) The list is too long to mention but she has featured on the front page of the largest selling newspaper in Vegas, done TV interviews for Fox & Bluff and interviews for Swedish, Norwegian, UK, French and Danish titles to mention a few. She continues to make news on and off the tables.
Still in her teens this story has many more chapters to come starting with defending her title at this year's WSOPE in September.
