Built on the site of the renowned Empire Ballroom at a cost of £16m, The Casino at The Empire promises "a touch of Las Vegas in the heart of London".
Designed by Las Vegas-based The Paul Steelman Design Group, the vast casino spreads over 50,000 square feet and boasts a 10,000 sq.ft gaming area - the largest in London.
The casino has a private poker room, named Face To Face, which can accommodate up to 80 players simultaneously.
The poker room offers tournaments ranging from £20 rebuy to £70 freezeouts during an average week but in September 2007, it hosted the final stages of the £10,000 World Series of Poker Europe Main Event.
For those poker players who bust from their tournament earlier than expected there are 30 gaming tables to keep them occupied, featuring electronic Roulette, Three Card Poker, Black Jack, traditional roulette and Punto Banco. The latter, a form of Baccarat, is available with stakes up to £5,000 per hand!
If gambling is not your idea of fun, the casino has two restaurants and three bars to choose from, each with a different theme and feel.
FuLushou offers Pan-Asian cuisine in an informal setting, where there is added theatre from the on-show kitchen.
Flame, the casino's signature restaurant, serves high quality meat and fish in an intimate dining environment. The mahogany tables and black marble surfaces provide a welcome escape from the busy West End.
The three bars, Vapor, The Icon Room and Shadow Bar, are all open from noon until late and each provides a range of unique entertainment, including Showgirls, shadow dancers and an illuminated dance floor.
To complete the Las Vegas feel, The Casino at The Empire has opened an ice cream boutique where customers can create their own unique flavoured ice-cream and finish them off with toppings such as jelly babies!
Whether you are an avid poker player, a table-game fanatic or just fancy a relaxing meal, then The Casino at The Empire has something to offer everyone.
