EPT and WPT winner Roland De Wolfe fell short in his hunt for his first bracelet after losing all his chips to a massive cold deck. De Wolfe raised pre-flop and was happy to get his money in the middle holding Ac Kc on a Ad Ks 4h flop. Unfortunately his opponent held 4d 4c, meaning Roland needed another Ace or King to stay alive. Nothing came and the Londoner was sent home.
David ‘Raptor' Benefield had a rollercoaster day after dropping right down before almost doubling up and knocking out Sutha Nirmalananthan who moved all in with 3s 3d. The flop was great for him, 6d 10d 3c, but unfortunately Benefield held the 6d 6c and took down the pot. He lost more chips later after eventually being eliminated at the hands of Eric Seidel. In a limped pot, the flop came J 9 7 with Benefield calling a bet from Seidel. Both checked the Q turn before bet called and all in from Benefield who showed 8 10 for a straight but lost to Seidel's rivered flush.
Phil Hellmuth was eliminated holding one of his ‘top 10 hands.' On a board of 5d 8h 2c Hellmuth moved all in with Ks Kc and was instantly called by this years HORSE champion, Sherkhan Farnood holding 5s 5h. Hellmuth could not catch a King and was sent to the rail for the second time in a week by Farnood, who also knocked him out of the HORSE event.
At the end of day 2 only 67 players remained. Andy Bloch and Eric Seidel are both at the top of the chip counts.
